Training Courses (pdf):

I. Basic Reservoir Modeling (2 days):

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

That class is designed for geoscientists who need to get started with the GOCAD basics features to build structural models and stratigraphic grids (eclipse format).

ABOUT THE COURSE

This introductory This introductory course provides a complete overview of the basic functionalities of the GOCAD Suite 2.5 X.

You will progress through a series of comprehensive exercises designed to provide you with an opportunity to use the GOCAD Suite tools to carry out data import, display editing, analytic analysis, and data cleaning, all focus towards the creation of the stratigraphic grid.

Gocad Fundamental (1 day  - June 4th):

Introduction to GOCAD Suite

Importing Data and Saving Project

Seismic Cube
Cultural Data
Horizon Interpretations
Fault Interpretations
Well Path, Markers and Logs

Visualizing Objects in the 3D Viewer

Preparing Data for Modeling

Static and Dynamic Regions

3D Reservoir Grid Builder (0.5 day - June 5th evening)

Defining geologic information for modeling

Define the reservoir grid extension (envelop)

Create intermediate horizons from miscellaneous data (for example, well markers, interpretation data, and thickness maps) and geologic information

Manage gridding resolution (for example, horizontal and vertical layering and tartan gridding)

Manage complex fault geometry, like synthetic and antithetic faults, using the stair-step method

II. Basic Seismic Interpretation (2 days):

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

That class is designed for geoscientists who need to get started with the GOCAD basics features to interpret seismic cubes and create interpretation lines for horizon and faults.
