$This animated picture shows a Discrete Fracture Network colored by its degree of connectivity. Blue is used to highlight isolated fractures; red fractures are connected to a much larger number of fractures. The DFN is generated using a density and orientation map derived from strain analyses. Looking at the degree of connectivity quickly provides an idea of the impact of fractures on flow.$
