Gautier Laurent is working on volume rendering for curvilinear grids. There is more difficulty with this type of data representation than with regular grids. The first part of his project consists in exploring different existing methods for visualization and comparing these methods in terms of speed, quality and complexity to adapt to curvilinear grids. Then, he will propose an implementation for the volume rendering of non regular grids, which could involve OpenGL and shaders programming. At the end, the project should allow visualizing the entire volume at one time instead of cross-sections.
